Those of you who follow us on Instagram already saw some of our shenanigans from last weekend, but we wanted to make sure that all of our readers are privileged to the same suuuuuper relevant information we posted there.
So once a year, we go to Ali’s stupendous house on the river for our Wives of Whitewood retreat where we talk about our goals and plans for the year. Without our spouses, dogs, or children. It’s clearly the best part of our year.
After we enjoyed the amazing scenery, we made lists. We love lists. We may have even added things to the list just to check them off. Yeah, I’m looking at you, “7. make lists.”
In general, things were going really well. Courtney made Ali cut fabric for her since she’s still *VERY* blade-shy since cutting off part of her finger last year. #bestfriendscutfabricforfriends
But then we found the drink helmets. Enough said. (Also, who knew that drink helmets came with situational advice?!?)
And since Ali shouldn’t be the only one with embarrassing pictures, Courtney’s offering up proof of her new readers. She turned forty LESS THAN A MONTH AGO. So there’s that.
Beyond our crazy behavior, we truly do hope you’re interested in what Wives of Whitewood has in store for the coming year. We’re excited to let you know that we will release (1) a new paid pattern based upon our most popular pattern, (2) a new free pattern, and (3) a new add-on to an existing pattern. Here’s to an amazing 2019!
If you don’t believe me, here’s a sneak peak of the rest of the issue. (Which is the July 2018 issue of British Patchwork & Quilting by the way.)
So I don’t know about you, but we’re going to be spending all weekend driving around Richmond trying to find hard copies to buy. #realdealpublication #webefamous
In all seriousness though (and you know how we hate to be serious), we couldn’t be more honored to be included in their publication. When we started on this adventure in our kitchens years ago, we never thought we’d see our company’s name in print. So, go, follow your dreams. Well, really only the good ones. Much love – the now famous Ali & Courtney
How do we know that Wives of Whitewood is truly a reality? We got our first piece of junk mail! We couldn’t have been more excited, and it was very funny to watch us fawn over, and then take a picture of this silly piece of mail. (And we’re sure we’ll stop laughing once the barrage of junk mail continues.)
We also wanted to give a huge shout out to all of the friends and family who have sent us messages of support and encouragement and who have shown us love through Facebook and Etsy since we launched 10 days ago. We appreciate every single one of you!
We’ll be back next week with our first full detailed post for the Spring collection – the Whole Shebang totebag. In the meantime, we’re working on our first FREE PATTERN! It’s a super cute and quick wine tote that we’ll publish in April, right in time for winery and wine festival season to begin!
