All Charged Up is a fun little pouch that stores all of your chargers and cords in one place. It’s the perfect size to slip into your handbag or laptop bag so you’ll always have your chargers when you need them. No more running around the house trying to find where you left your phone charger when you’re almost out of power!

The inside features elasticized pockets that stretch to accommodate different sized chargers and cords. There is also an outer pocket you can use to hold to your grocery list or a couple of business cards, or whatever else you might need.

FREE (!!) Winezies Tutorial

First we owe you an apology. We had every intention of releasing our next free pattern/tutorial before Thanksgiving, but we both got downed by absurdly prolonged illnesses. One of us got it at Disney, the other at preschool drop-offs and pick-ups (anyone noticing a theme here???). Anyway, onto the main event.

So what is a Winezie? A koozie for your wine bottle, of course! So now, just in time for the last-minute-holiday-gift-season, we’re sharing our great new free pattern which makes any of three different sized Winezies – a standard 750mL bottle, a magnum 1.5L bottle and a champagne bottle.

(Those of you with crack investigating skills will notice that yes, all of the corks are gone… which means that all of the actual wine in the bottles somehow went missing too. Pattern testing is hard, people!)

One of the fantastic things about the Winezie is that you only need one fat quarter to make one (or a 16″ x 16″ piece of fabric). So you can also use scraps to make a fun coordinating Winezie.

You will also need 4 elastic hair ties and 4 buttons. That’s it!

We suggest using fleece, flannel or cotton for your Winezies.

We also sewed some up in a knit, but if you decide to use a stretchy fabric, be aware that the 750mL template will actually fit a 1.5L magnum bottle.

Another fantastic thing about the Winezie is that it’s a super quick sew. We can whip one of these up in less than 30 minutes, which makes it the perfect last minute holiday gift or host/hostess gift. You can make just one, or an awesome set to give to all of those wine lovers in your life.

Winezies Group

When testing the Winezie, we found that wine bottles are not standard sizes. We modeled the templates on Barefoot wine products. We included notes at the end of the pattern to alter the templates for other bottles that are taller or narrower than Barefoot products. If your bottle is wider than Barefoot products, use a stretchy fabric to sew the Winezie.

Finally, we also didn’t “just forget” to draft a Chardonnay bottle template. Okay, here goes… deep breaths…. We. Are. Chard. Haters. There, we said it. So don’t ever expect any Chardonnay love from these ladies. LOL.

The Winezies measure approximately 10” x 3” (750mL), 11” x 4” (1.5L) and 9” x 4” (champagne).

The PDF pattern has 11 pages, 6 pattern pieces and over 20 color photos to help you every step of the way. Click here to download our FREE (!!) Winezies pattern. (You can also download it from our Craftsy shop.)

We really hope you enjoy our second free pattern. As always, send us any questions or comments, and especially send us any pictures of your finished Winezies, as we would love to share them! Happy holiday sewing!

FREE (!!) Wine Totes Tutorial

So what could possibly be more fun than one cute tote to carry your favorite wine? Two complementary totes made from the same free pattern! So just in time for the Spring wine festival season, we’re sharing this awesome free pattern/tutorial which makes not one, but two, super fun and useful wine totes.

(Yeah, so we realized AFTER the photoshoot in Ali’s beautiful backyard that we probably should have waited to put the ice in our glasses. We swear that the bottle hadn’t been chilled… LOL)

When we first came up with the idea of releasing entire collections of sewing patterns, we also immediately knew that we wanted to offer free patterns with each collection. And in deference to W.O.W.’s humble beginnings, we wanted this first free pattern to pay homage to our love of wine. Wouldn’t these make the perfect host or hostess gift for the wine lover in your life?

These totes feature a padded divider so you can safely carry two wine bottles or one bottle and other supplies (anyone besides us obsessed with stemless plastic wine glasses for summer?). The totes also have two outside pockets for a wine opener or other small items, and measure approximately 12” x 10” x 5” each.

All of the construction seams are French seams, so you can really impress yourself and anyone you gift one of these totes to with the professional finish they provide. The pattern includes step-by-step instructions for each French seam, so we feel confident that even a beginner sewer can follow them.

And here’s a helpful hint… if you’ve never done a French seam before (ahem, Courtney, ahem), it will seem really weird and counter-intuitive, but if you just trust the process, they will give you an amazing finished product.

This pattern makes two complementary totes. So you buy less than a yard of two different fabrics, cut the same pieces out of both fabrics, but sew them up so that each tote features the opposite fabrics. Fun!

You will also need two 9”x7” pieces of batting or Pellon Fusible Fleece and four 7” strips of sew-on Velcro. That’s it! The PDF pattern has 9 pages and 50 color photos to help you every step of the way.
