The next pattern from our Spring 2014 collection that we’ll talk about is the Tuxedo Trio – a fun mini-collection of its own!
The Tuxedo Trio includes three coordinating items – a hobo, a wristlet and a wallet – all featuring a striking tuxedo pleat panel, hence the name. Cue visions of awesome 1970s prom attire (which is a super fun thing to Google, by the way)…
We absolutely loved mixing patterns and solids in different combinations with the Tuxedo Trio. And while the hobo, wristlet, and wallet are all strong enough to stand on their own, you could also make an amazing three-piece ensemble:
So let’s look at each piece separately. First, we have the Tuxedo Hobo, which features a hidden front zipper pocket, optional inner pockets, optional keychain, zipper closure, and an adjustable strap. The Tuxedo Hobo measures 10 ¼ ” x 13” x 4 ½”.
The front features the pleated panel, and the hidden zipper pocket was made to fit your phone perfectly:
The inner pockets are customizable, and you can also see the optional keychain here:
You can also choose to quilt the outer pieces if you wish. This version has a super chic and simple diagonal pattern:
Next up is the Tuxedo Wristlet. It also features the hidden front zipper pocket and zipper closure, but has a card holder inside as well as an optional second pocket. The Tuxedo Wristlet measures 6 ½” x 8”.
The optional second inner pocket (across from the card holder below) again fits your phone perfectly:
And that front hidden zipper pocket can easily stash a small set of keys:
(And those of you with eagle eyes might be able to recognize the car brand that both W.O.W. wives drive!)
Finally we have the Tuxedo Wallet, which includes a card holder, large inner zipper pocket, and button closure. The Tuxedo Wallet measures 4 ½” x 4 ¼” folded (8 ½” unfolded).
This wallet can hold plenty of your cards:
As well as your paper bills and change:
As we mentioned earlier, this pattern is particularly well suited for the sewer who loves to mix and match fabrics. In this coordinating wristlet and wallet, we used two similar patterns and you can see what fun effects the tuxedo panel gets you!
The PDF pattern has 36 pages and includes 3 pattern pieces and over 170 color photos!! You can buy it via instant download in our Etsy shop or our Craftsy shop for only $9.
We really hope you enjoy the Tuxedo Trio. And we’re pretty sure that anyone would swoon if you gave them a three-piece coordinating set as a gift.
As usual, if you have any questions or comments about our patterns, we would be happy to hear from you. And please send us any pictures of your finished Tuxedo Trio Hobos, Wristlets or Wallets – or even better, your own Tuxedo Trio collection – because we would love to see and share them!
